Versie 11
Afmeting schilderij: hoog 190 cm - breed 150 cm Techniek: acrylverf op geprepareerd linnen. 'Schilder': Eva Hoogland, NL - 10 juni, 2000 Artistieke bijdrage: Ik zou graag de godenfiguren in de linkerbovenhoek tegen een paarse achtergrond plaatsen. Deze paarse ondergrond heeft de vorm van een driehoek, en geeft daarmee een tegenwicht tegen de groene driehoek rechtsonder. De paarse driehoek loopt dan ook, net als de driehoek rechtsonder, door tot over het midden van het schilderij. Verder zou ik het meest rechtse godenhoofd in zijn geheel willen wegschilderen. Artistieke drijfveren: De vorm van een driekhoek linksboven is in de huidige versie van het schilderij impliciet aanwezig, dankzij de plaatsing van de godenfiguren. Een afwijkende kleur zou deze vorm, die een prachtige balans vormt met de overstaande hoek, benadrukken. Verder kan het schilderij nog wat kleur gebruiken, en is paars, als kleur van de dood, bij uitstek geschikt.Het wegschilderen van het meest rechtse godenhoofd heeft een andere reden: Het geeft het doodshoofd de ruimte zodat het zijn prominente plaats in het schilderij behoudt en de noodzakelijk leegte om zich heen heeft; een leegte die de dood nu eenmaal met zich meebrengt. |
Version 11 Size painting: high 76" - wide 60" Technique: acrylic paint on prepared canvas. 'Painter': Eva Hoogland, NL - June 10, 2000 Artistic suggestion: I would like to place the godfigures in the upper-left corner against a purple background. This purple background has the shape of a triangle, and gives this way a counter balance to the shape of the green triangle right below. The purple triangle crosses, like the triangle below, the center of the painting. Also I would like to paint away completely the head of the god most on the right. Artistic driving-forces: The shape of the triangle upper-left is implicitly there in the version of the painting I'm looking at, thanks to how the godfigures are arranged. A different color would give an accent to this form, wich forms a perfect balance to the opposite triangle. Furthermore can the painting use some more color, and purple is as color of the death, the most suitable. The painting-away of the godshead placed on the most right has another reason: It gives the skull space, so the it keeps it's prominent position on the painting and obtaines the necessairy space arround it: a space that's naturaly brought together with death. |
